toothbrushing etiquette

I recently found out that my 2 teen daughters (17 year old and 14 year old) do not rinse out their mouths after brushing their teeth. Apparently the way they do it is brush for two minutes, spit out the excess toothpaste and That's It. No rinsing with water. Because, they tell me, the toothpaste has added protective effect if left on the teeth. I'm guessing some expert in the field of teeth (ie social media influencer) is the source of this information. But I was shocked! Surely, it's not great to let the remaining toothpaste - along with bits of food that you have just brushed off your teeth - to sit in your mouth. Or are they right and rinsing is no longer the done thing???? What do you think Em and Michael, should we all be rinsing or not? Should I just be grateful they are looking after their teeth? ~Suzy.

Contemporary dance

Hi em and Michael My ten year old autistic son loves to dance he’s been doing hip hop in a local community group huge due to social anxiety and has now asked to go to contemporary dance classes We are in the northern suburbs of Melbourne - any recommendations? Also I’m a long time fan and em you saved me when I was seriously injured in hospital in 2016 you reminded me to laugh and Michael during that time I watched all of offspring which I paid for before it was free lol Patrick died from the same scenario but I survived not sure what that says lol Anyway thank you em and Michael

Cool Tatt!

Hello Em and Michael! Thank you so much for all the things that you are making as it’s all excellent. Em, would you be able describe for us and/or tell us the story behind one or more of your tattoos? Perhaps there could be accompanying visuals on the closies’ feed if you are OK with that? Thank you! Love from Jess (Yeppoon QLD)

Australian Idol - Scott's reaction

Hi Em (and Michael) I know you have mentioned a few times that you were marketed on Australian Idol as a single mother, even though Scott and you were still together whilst you were on Australian Idol, my question is what was his reaction to you being marketed this way? Was there any unexpected reactions to this from people in your life to this marketing? Was baby Chella filmed at all for the season? Did anyone of your friends/ family tape on VHS all of the episodes you were on? Mel xo

Offspring: Nina and Patrick - Happily Ever After?

Hi Michael (and Em) I loved the previous insight you gave about that after Patrick's death, the pivotal moment was about Nina and Billie, it was such an amazing moment, that you should be very proud of writing, it gives me chills and still has me bawling every time I watch that scene. Side note: thank you for the previous Emsolation ep which I think was one of the anniversaries of his death, after that was finally able to accept it, and recognise that it was brilliant TV. Side quest #2: I still hate that I found out it was Patrick that had died when my breakfast radio alarm went off the following morning as at the time I was studying at night and would watch catch up the following day. Though it was the catalyst for me to stop listening to the problematic Sydney radio duo that I had listened to for many, many years, thinking about it right now it appears that Michael has brought me to Em rather than what I initially thought was that Em brought me to Michael through the podcast. Following finding out that Patrick had died on the radio, I then changed radio stations and started to listen to what would eventually become Em's Sydney breakfast radio show. So butterfly effect moment: by killing off Patrick, it led me to Em's Sydney radio show, to then listen to Try Hard audiobook, listen to Emsolation, watch NPC address then subsequently be diagnosed with ADHD, so in fact you have both changed my life for the better, so thank you! Back from the side quests for the actual question: I am curious to know from your perspective in a hypothetical world, where Matthew Le Nevez was able to sign up for further season/s, do you think that Nina and Patrick could have lasted long-term? I think we all like to romanticise that the would have, because we weren't able to see that when Patrick's life was cut short, but the reality of life (well TV life) can sometimes make things not work out, even with the best of intentions. Love you both, thanks a million for everything Mel xo
